The Office of Information Technology is looking to fill a senior leadership position, Director of Architecture and Policy.  The Director of Architecture & Policy provides oversight, leadership and direction to a diverse team consisting of Solution architects, Communication Manager, research analyst, FOAA & records retention specialist, and internship specialist all in support of the Office of Information Technology.  Reporting to the Executive Director of Enterprise Shared Services, the Director is part of a leadership team that leads organizational changes by improving culture, services, and processes.  The Architecture & Policy team plays a major role in participating in the strategic, tactical and operational processes, methods, procedures and policies that are the basis for how MaineIT fulfils its mission.

The Director will work closely with other MaineIT Director’s and key agency personnel to ensure their needs are being met and their voice is heard by all of IT.



A ten-year combination of experience, education, and training in management of operations and process improvement.  Specific qualifications include:

  • Proven ability to collaborate within a large services organization, including ability to plan, prioritize, direct, and evaluate priorities of a complex organization on behalf of its customers.
  • Proven ability to work well with partner organizations to effectively reach their business goals within an enterprise framework.
  • Proven ability to set goals and manage measurable key performance indicators.
  • Proven ability to manage operational budgets effectively, always looking to increase service effectiveness while reducing costs.
  • Proven ability to apply best practices to process-based service delivery and pursuing of continual improvement.
  • Demonstrated record of staff mentorship and professional development advocacy.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  
  • Proven ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts and build strong effective teams. 
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix-style environment.
